What procedures are considered Alternate Therapy?
Alternative therapies include but are not limited to acupuncture, chiropractic medicine, homeopathy, holistic medicine, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and stem cell therapy. Coverage is available under the Veterinary Fees Benefit of the policy, unless waived or amended by endorsement.
What doesn’t PetangoCare pet insurance cover?
*Pre-existing Conditions
A pre-existing condition is a medical condition, both accident or illness, that occurred or was noted, treated, symptomatic and/ or diagnosed prior to the insurance policy going into effect. Pre-existing conditions are excluded from coverage.
There is a short 14 day period after your pet insurance policy is bought when you will be unable to claim for illnesses. This is called your Illness Waiting Period. Any illnesses contracted during this waiting period prior to your policy coverage effective date.
Can I still use my own veterinarian?
Absolutely! PetangoCare Pet Insurance provides you with the flexibility to use any licensed veterinarian of your choice (within the United States and when traveling in Canada), including traditional veterinarians, specialists, and alternative therapists.
Great, but how much will I get back if I make a claim?
Your coverage depends on which level you have chosen. We have three levels for you to choose from, from $1,000 in annual lifelong coverage up to $5,000 anually/per policy term.
Each level is comprehensive and allows for veterinary treatments and covers ALL accident and illnesses*.
There is no limit per condition, only an annual limit per policy term, regardless of the number of illnesses or accidents. When your policy renews, the coverage amount is replenished to the benefit level you’ve chosen, so you have the ability to maintain ongoing treatment for your pet’s medical conditions.
